Most of you don't know I was a showgirl in my 'younger' years. Ha! Surprise! Below is a special event I wouldn't miss for the world.

100 year Reunion for Showgirls

This event is in Paris, France, at the famous “Lido” on June 24th, 2010.

There will be friends I performed with that I haven’t seen in over 20 years.

I worked for MGM Grand as a Showgirl for over 13 years. I began as a “Bluebell” while finishing my Senior Year in High School. I was the youngest showgirl in our show with a cast of 300 people.

The stage we rehearsed and performed on was the size of a football field. We had a FULL SIZE Airliner that filled part of the stage as we danced on the wings.

I couldn’t believe I was featured in a book posing in a white tux and cane with a cast of showgirls behind me on stage…the next chapter was about Marilyn Monroe. Unbelievable! I still am amazed when I think about my bright past.

I guess I did get my Grandma’s genes…she did all of Mae West’s beaded dresses---
Grandma was her private seamstress.

I am thrilled and excited to participate in this special celebration. It will be fun to reminisce with old dancing friends.

As of today, I am 45 years old and still take ballet classes, Pilates, Yoga and more. I absolutely love it.

Occasionally, I have colorful dreams of wearing beautifully elaborate head dresses with sparkling costumes…that’s when I wake up with a smile knowing I was part of the last generation of “True” showgirls.

CHAIN OF CONFIDENCE EVENT

Please join me for the "CHAIN OF CONFIDENCE" event on February 25th from 6-9:00pm.
www.ieChainofConfidence.com

Local Women’s Forum Offers Confidence Building Techniques

Inland Empire, CA, ---On February 25, at the Four Points Sheridan in Rancho Cucamonga from 6pm to 9pm, BeautiControl and Necessary Nutrition, LLC are hosting the Chain of Confidence Women’s Forum; uniting local women and community leaders to inspire and support one another while benefiting the community.

BeautiControl and Necessary Nutrition, LLC Presents:
CHAIN OF CONFIDENCE FORUM
Confidence: Belief in Oneself and
One’s Powers and Abilities

Our Chain of Confidence event honors women and the profound life altering impact that we have on one another.

Join us and invite other women to attend this special event featuring a panel of accomplished, confident women from our community. It takes time, money and a lot of patience! You might have to go through one or many color changes during the process! It all depends on how YOUR SKIN heals the color.

Sometimes it's better to LEAVE IT ALONE and resort to covering it with makeup. If you need help with color choices, I'll be able to assist you at my studio.

If you are willing to go the extra mile and stay with it until the end, it may bring back your confidence.

How do I cover my scar?

Most scars can be hidden by flesh toned pigments that are put in the skin with needles. You can cover your scar with camouflage work...permanently. With the right pigment color, topical anesthetic and the digital 'Nouveau' machine, it can be accomplished. In the permanent makeup industry, this is called a 'Para-medical' procedure.

For example...I had a client come to see if I could camouflage scars from a face lift. The 1 3/4 inch scar was white and located under the chin. With a simple 'color patch' test, (there were several involved) we found the closest color to the skin. Voila, no more scar!

Don't think it's that easy, though! While the end result is worth it, it does take time, patience and money. It's an investment that will bring back your confidence and self-esteem.

No more scars!

If you are a person who does not mind covering your scar with makeup every day, I will match the perfect foundation that will hide your scar. Otherwise, come and see me for scar camouflage work. You'll be happy you did.

How long does permanent lipstick last?

Permanent lips last a L O N G time but it varies with each client. I have to say from my own experience, having my eye liner done permanently did not hurt but it was strange. The pressure from the technician stretching the skin was weird because (let's face it) who ever goes near your eyes...no one. That is itself was different. During the procedure, my eyes were closed the entire time. That was relieving.

I have to sum it up by saying that having your eyeliner procedure done is Bizarre....not painful. I love it!!! It gives my eye definition 24/7.

Before the procedure, there is a topical anesthetic applied to numb the area.
Easy, Breezy!

Am I a candidate for permanent brows?

I recently had a 61 year wise client come to see me for permanent brows. She thought she might be too old for permanent cosmetics. Not so...you can be as young as 18 or as old as my client who is 93. All ages benefit from permanent cosmetics.

My younger client had hair but did not have enough...so she needed a bit of shadowing/ shading. After the procedure, it looked as if she added a powder to your brows. (but she didn't...she came to see me for permanent brows). Now she has more time for herself instead of spending time applying product to her brows.

My wiser client lost her brow hairs over the years so she needed a shape along with single hair strokes to make her look as if she had natural brow hairs. ( I loved it when she jumped for joy after her procedure)!

Both look beautiful. Both are happy. Both don't need to spend any more time and energy putting on their brows every morning....having permanent brows took care of that!!!

Yea!

Showgirls

Well, it's true! It was so nice to relax and rejuvenate with girlfriends.

I'm sorry it took so L O N G to book a Spa Escape and spend time relaxing and being pampered.

I am moving next month and decided to invite my female neighbors for a well- deserved night out. We experienced 5 treatments: 1.) a heated herbal neck wrap to De-stress the upper neck and shoulders, 2.) Chilled cucumber eye pads to take away puffiness, dark circles and fatigued eyes, 3.) A lip masque to help hydrate dry, cracked lips (also eliminates fine vertical lines),
3.) An Instant manicure with salt from the dead sea to exfoliate and moisturize dry cracked hands (oils help delete dried cuticles) along with a menthol foot treatment (to help stimulate circulation) .

Wow, what a fabulous evening.

Thanks to Amy, Cathy and Shannon for taking time out of their hectic schedules to come and join me.

Warmly,

Elise

Elise Rainey in Orange Coast Magazine

I'm honored to be featured in an article by Orange Coast magazine in the January 2009 issue.

It's on newsstands now.

Save $ money by coloring your own brows

Color your own brows...it's easy!

My friend came over for a 'girls' weekend---of course, we did facials, manicures, brow waxing and tweezing, Yoga and MORE. When I finished shaping my friends brows, she then brought out a box of "Just for men". Here's her secret I absolutely love and want to share with you.

If you pay to get your brows colored, here's how you can save money. Simply purchase the right color of "Just for Men". It comes in 6 different color choices. Also buy one children's toothbrush to apply or you can use a brow brush to apply the color. ("Just for men" brush-in color gel comes with a brush but my friend didn't like that one.)

Follow directions as if you were a guy wanting to color your hair but apply to your brows.

I hope you will try this money-saving secret...and share it with your girlfriends who need to color their brows, too!

The benefits of Permanent Cosmetics for Alopecia

My first experience with an Alopecia client was overwhelmingly emotional. To understand, from her prospective, all of the insecurities that comes with being diagnosed with this condition. When she was told she had Alopecia, she was shocked. She had to get used to people starring at her, she started wearing wigs, and she felt she wasn’t a good Mother anymore or a beautiful wife. So much was going on in her mind. She was 40 when she started losing her hair.

I was thrilled with the fact that she chose me to tattoo her brows and eye liner. The benefits of having both procedures helped her feel normal again. She was so excited to finally have the opportunity to have brows. Since brows draw attention to the eyes…she felt lost without them. Now that she has eyeliner, too. Her eyes are defined and beautiful.

When we finished the procedure, we both shared tears; her tears of happiness to look normal again and my tears of absolute joy being able to help her. Wow, what an experience. (I have to say that when I help women with Medical issues, it’s extremely fulfilling).

Permanent makeup does wonders for Alopecia!

What is Alopecia?

I’m thrilled to be able to share my personal experiences, along with my clients, in cosmetic tattooing/permanent makeup. My first blog is going to be about Alopecia.

What is Alopecia?

Alopecia areata is a condition affecting humans, in which hair is lost from areas of the body, usually from the scalp. In some cases, the condition can spread to the entire scalp (Alopecia totalis) or to the entire epidermis (Alopecia universalis). The condition, (Alopecia universalis), causes hair loss all over the body…including the face: brows, eyelashes and facial hair. This is where I come into the picture as a Permanent Makeup Artist/Micropigmentation Specialist. Women, men and children will all benefit with increased confidence from their improved appearance after permanent paramedical repigmentation is properly applied.

Typically there is concern as to whether or not the permanent makeup will look "natural" if or when natural hair growth should occur in the future. The answer is "yes".

Consultations are required and are taken seriously. After your eyebrow and/or eyeliner procedure, you will feel comfortable with your appearance as you enter into the public eye. Basically, there is no "down-time" other than using some ice (or frozen peas) if swelling occurs.

Usually, clients will come in at lunch time and go back to work immediately after the procedures. Others feel more comfortable having their procedure done on a Friday evening (after work) so they could go home afterwards to relax and unwind.

Creating permanent brows and eyelashes for Alopecia clients

This brings me to another special client, Kari. (By the way, all my clients are special to me)! Kari has had Alopecia for over 15 years. She researched for a permanent makeup artist who can design brows that look ‘natural’. I use a unique technique where I carefully implant individual hair-like strokes that resemble a true brow hair. (I believe some technicians in the industry call this “feathering”). Voila, permanent brows were created that look like ‘real’ brows. Kari is very excited with her newly designed brows.

Now try and relate to this scenario. Kari wanted me to permanently design a liner that was a ‘zig zag’ or ‘ridged’ liner on her upper eye. I realized she was trying to draw a liner that looked like lashes. Because Kari had no lashes, she tried to draw something that resembled them. During the procedure, I designed and created a liner that extended small hair-like strokes to look like lashes. WE DID IT! Now she has 2 permanent procedures: natural hair-like brows and an upper liner with lash-like strokes. Amazing!!!

Kari is psyched that she doesn’t have to take the time to draw these on every day. Time saved. Thank you, Kari, for being such an incredible human being. Not only is she a woman of integrity, she’s a women who knows what she wants…goes after it…and makes it happen. Thanks for being my client!!!

Coming soon--- Kari’s ‘live voicemail’ testimony that will be posted on my web site.

Micro-pigmentation: Nipples for breast cancer survivors

A testimonial, and photos, of some permanent makeup I did for a wonderful client: http://local.yahoo.com/details?id=41590806

Image by Elise: Your Permanent Makeup Artist in Orange County

Hello, and welcome to my blog!
